Pickup Helper
The Habitat ReStore needs 2 – 3 pickup helpers immediately to volunteer
Monday to Friday from 9:00 – 3:30, minimum of 1 day per week.
The ReStore is Ottawa’s number one stop for home renovations, repairs
and remodeling. We sell donated products-everything from doors to floors,
including the kitchen sink! The proceeds support Habitat for Humanity’s
home building programs in the National Capital Region.
As a pickup helper, your duties will be:
• assisting the driver in safely loading and unloading of donated
building materials
• helping stock product in the store
No experience required just a willingness to help Habitat and a strong
back (able to lift approximately 70lbs)

Store Associate
This position is responsible for supplying excellent customer service to our customers, both shoppers and donors, and assisting management with administrative duties as outlined.
Excellent, Friendly Customer Service includes:
- Greeting and serving all customers
- Creating a comfortable environment for customers to shop including:
- Presenting a tidy well laid out store with clean, clearly priced and neatly displayed product
- Good knowledge of product and able to answer questions in a positive friendly manner
- Eliminating all hazards
- Assisting donors with drop off of donations
- Answering the phone in a pleasant manner, ensuring the customer is satisfied with the conversation.
This position attends to the following tasks:
- Supplying Great Customer Service
- Cash register operation and assisting with end of day cash out, opening & closing the store
- Processing donations according to ReStore guidelines
- Directing of volunteers to various tasks
- Ensuring that volunteers adhere to policies, guidelines and procedures
This position works in cooperation with other store associates, the driver and volunteers to ensure the following are completed in an efficient manner:
- Determining the acceptability of donations
- Accepting donations into the store
- Processing donations, insuring that all are priced and cleaned before they are put of for sale
- Pricing donated items
- Regular cleaning duties
