What We Don't Take

Although the Habitat ReStore appreciates all of the offers of donations it receives, there are some items that it cannot accept.

  • Housewares and dishes
  • Used window coverings
  • Large or small appliances
  • Dirty, broken or worn out furniture
  • Electronics
  • Toys
  • Clothing
  • Exercise and sports equipment
  • Books
  • Materials with nails or screws not removed
  • Damaged, moldy, rotten or dirty materials
  • Carpet
  • Paint from the general public
  • Unframed mirrors
In Ottawa at this time there are NO charities that accept large applicance, hazardous waste, or paint from the public. However, here is a list of local charities who you may wish to contact for other donations such as dishes and toys:
