Habitat NCR's Past Builds
Women In Law (WILPower)
Police, Crown Attorneys, Defense Attorneys & other women in the legal profession partnering with Habitat for Humanity-NCR to make a difference
Acting Staff Sergeant Isobel Anderson and Sergeant Cori Slaughter ignited the Women in Law initiative after hearing about the Habitat for Humanity-NCR Women Build. They were inspired and excited to represent women in law in a community based partnership. Thanks to the Women In Law, the Pettapiece family now has a home they can call their own.

The Home Depot House
At 3 Court Street in Aylmer, Quebec, 1200 sq. foot home was built thanks to the sweat of hundreds of volunteers, The Home Depot, and the Ville de Gatineau. The Cardinal-Roach family are proud new homeowners and loving all of the advantages of home ownership!

In the summer of 2006 we were happy to return to Pinecrest, the site of our 2005 build, which saw two houses go up. Summer 2006, as we return to Pinecrest we will be building two more homes for two very happy families, each with 4 kids! The build began in July.
Mountie House
The house was built for a family of seven! Mom, Roxanne and dad, Kevin could not have been happier to have a permanent home for their 5 children. In a thank you letter written by Roxanne to the sponsors, volunteers and staff, she said, "As I am writing this letter today, tears come to my eyes, as this has been the most unbelievable gift we have been given. Everyday Kevin and I look out our window and cannot believe this is ours. The staff, volunteers and sponsors that helped on the build of our new house will forever be a very important part of our lives. We are very grateful to all who have made this dream come true for us." The Ottawa Habitat for Humanity Mountie House was the first of its kind in Canada. The Mountie Association of Ottawa has since issued a challenge to other Mounted Police Associations and Habitat Affiliates across the country and hope to establish momentum for continuing builds in other communities across Canada. This Mountie House affiliation is exceptional because it's not just about sponsorship, it's about believing in a simple formula of cooperation and shared responsibility to collaborate to help improve communities, and impact people's lives. It is also an integral part of the RCMP Employees commitment to "safe homes and safe communities". An initiative like Mountie House was an amazing 2 year collaborative community effort by sponsors who donated their time, money and material and volunteers who donated their hearts and hammers to help families who need a hand up.

In May 2004, Habitat for Humanity-NCR excitedly commenced the building of two new homes at 88 Stirling Avenue, Ottawa. With the help of our Corporate Sponsors and tireless work of our Volunteers, the house was built in an incredibly timely manner of seven weeks! As you can see from the pictures, this was another great success by Habitat-NCR and its generous volunteers and sponsors!
