386 Tillbury Avenue

Habitat for Humanity NCR will launch its 2008 build season with a Women Build at 386 Tillbury Avenue in the West end of Ottawa.

Have you considered putting together a lunch to help feed our hungry volunteers and workers?

Who:              Donate individually or as a group!

What:             A nutritious lunch

When:            Construction of this house will commence June 11, 2008 and
run for 12 weeks.

How:     1)        Donate $200 to cover the cost of one lunch for the Women Build volunteers.  Partial donations are also appreciated.

2) Prepare a meal for 20 - 25 people and bring it to the build site

• Send us an email to discuss your ideas and/or ask for suggested menus
• Forward this e-mail to a person, group, business or restaurant you think might be interested - we will then follow-up!
• The Food Committee will confirm a date and time with you in the near future.

Get Recognition:

                Full lunch sponsors will be advertised on the Build Site and Lunch Site.

                Partial donations will be pooled and advertised as HfH General Donors.

The Build Committee has decided to make this home Energy Star certified, so our material acquisition will be geared towards energy efficiency and safe, environmentally friendly products.

What does Energy Star mean?? It means that the house we are building will be affordable and friendly to the environment because of the products and supplies that we are using. Detailed information about the technical specifications for an Energy Star home are availale here for download.

196 Durocher Street

Habitat NCR has purchaed a Habitat home from a family moving to Toronto and is now in the process of renovating that home, thanks to a generous financial donation from Canadian Erectors Ltd.

The Mudioko family are happy to say that "their house is next"! Their sweat equity hours are well underway - the family working hard to renovate, clean and make their house new again!
